Your phone is the primary home for Whokin — it is where you log calls, capture voice notes, and receive nudges. But sometimes you want a larger screen. Sometimes you are at your desk and want to review your relationship notes before a call without unlocking your phone. Sometimes you want to write longer notes with a keyboard.

The Web Companion

The Whokin Web Companion is a browser-based companion to the mobile app that lets you access your kin data from any device. You authenticate using a QR code shown in the mobile app — no password to remember, no separate account to manage. The session is encrypted and temporary, and your data never leaves your device's control during the process.

What you can do from the web

  • Browse your kin list and review interaction history
  • Add notes and log interactions with a full keyboard
  • Review SharedKin timelines for family members
  • Prepare for calls by reviewing recent context
  • Access upcoming birthdays and scheduled nudges

The Web Companion is read-write, but your data never syncs to a cloud. It flows directly from your phone to your browser session — encrypted in transit, gone when you close the tab.

Security without friction

The QR authentication model means there is no browser-stored credential to steal. Every session is time-limited. Close the tab or walk away from your desk, and the session expires. The next time you want access, you scan the QR code again.
